Christian Democrats of America is hosting a Virtual Faith Forum Wednesday, October 28th at 5:30pm PST / 8:30pm EST. The event will be streamed live on our Facebook page at facebook.com/ christiandemocrats.
The forum will feature a variety of speakers, interviews, panels and performances of some of the biggest names in the progressive Christian world, from entertainers to pastors to politicians.
CDA has been planning to hold our first in-person faith forum event in 2020, but like most events the plans had to be modified because of COVID-19. “We are excited to be able to bring to you our first forum at this moment in our nation’s history. I believe this is something we need heading into election day next week, a gathering of people to talk about faith, politics, the election and this time we are living in. The country needs to know there are Christian Democrats gathering, praying, talking and taking action as we usher in November 3rd. The conservative Christian media gets too much of the attention in this country, and the other side needs representation. We are very excited to be able to bring that and also stir inspiration and hope among Christian Democrats during these dark times.”- says Christina Forrester, Founder and Executive Director of CDA, who is also hosting the event.
The event will feature popular actress Yvette Nicole Brown, who is a very vocal activist. “We are absolutely thrilled to have Yvette Nicole Brown join us on the forum. She has such a beautiful spirit and her activism is inspiring to many.” We are also honored to have interviews with the Reverend Leah Daughtry, Pastor John Pavlovitz, Dondré Whitfield, Sister Simone Campbell, who addressed the nation at this year’s virtual DNC, and musical guests including Thom Daugherty, former guitarist of The Elms and The Band Perry, who will be premiering his new single on the forum. CDA-endorsed Kentucky Senate candidate Amy McGrath, who is in a contentious battle against Mitch McConnell, will be making a statement at the forum, as will other CDA endorsed candidates including Alan Cohn of Florida. The forum will feature “spots” of words of inspiration and stories from Christian Democrats of all ages and backgrounds across the country also. “We want to show the country the ‘big tent’ of the Christian progressives and Democrats, the religious left. We have spots from our GenZ volunteer team who have inspirational words to share with young Christians who might be on the fence in this election. We have a members of the LGBTQ Christian community represented, including myself and also a Trans activist who is a Seminarian. We also have a Catholic Sister and Jewish Congressional Candidate! We truly have a great big tent representing the religious left. This is a very special event and very important at this time.”
