Christian Democrats of America is excited to announce a new partnership with Vote Common Good, an organization working to energize, engage and mobilize people of faith to vote for a social justice agenda in 2020. The partnership, which will result in co-hosted events, social media engagement and activities for the 2020 local and Presidential elections, comes at a time when the Religious Right has put their full support behind a President who was just impeached by the House of Representatives for obstruction of justice and abuses of power.
Christina Forrester, Director and Founder of Christian Democrats of America, says, “Vote Common Good is doing a great work and this is such an important partnership for this time in our country, especially. I am excited to soon be speaking at Vote Common Good events and to bring members of CDA together for co-hosted and partnered events throughout 2020. We have to come together as people of faith across the country to resist an immoral administration and fight for the values we care about, such as caring for the least of these, our environment and welcoming the stranger.”
Doug Pagitt of Vote Common Good said: “There is no better partner for Vote Common Good, and we are thrilled to be partnering in our Faith, Hope, & Love for a Change on Election Day national tour with Christian Democrats of America. People of faith need to know that those on the Democratic side of the political aisle welcome them with open arms and open hearts.”
Both groups say to stay tuned to social media for announcements on upcoming events and ask their members to pray for the success of their mutual endeavors over the next year. The Faith, Politics & the Common Good Voter’s Summit and Presidential Forum in Iowa is the first event CDA will be taking part in with Vote Common Good. Christina Forrester will be presenting at the event on January 10th. Registration is free for CDA members here.
